Small Umma and Appa joint with awesome soy marinated crab, and that colorful rainbow uni bowl in the uni shell. YUMMMMM. Need I say more regarding the food? Nahh, I think it's something that you just have to try, and this is one of those places that do it well. Umma and Appa also love surprising you with miscellaneous dishes from the kitchen! Maybe you'll be lucky enough to be served with some complementary dishes. =)
$2 validated parking available! If you know how ktown parking is, I wouldn't think twice, about paying that $2. -

So we went here three times. The first time we came after the jimjibang and ordered blue crab gangjanggejang and the uni set ($29.99). The side dishe included seaweed soup, which went really well with the crabs. The food were really good, seasoned really well.
The second time, we came around lunch time and we ordered the blue crab kangjanggejang ($17.99) and the blue crab yang neom ge jang($17.99). They were also tasted really well. The side dishes were a little bit different than last time. They added a salmon head, which is so tasty that I would come back for just for it. The crabs this time tasted really good and well marinated as last time.
The third time, we came around lunch as well. But this, they did not have the blue crab gangjanggejang, we ordered korean crab yang neom ge jang ($34.99) and the blue crab yang neom ge jang($17.99). The korean crab yang neom ge jang seasoning were really well, though I was not sure why this time the crab tasted a little bitter and not fresh. The blue crab yang neom ge jang seasoning were really well also, but tasted the same, bitter and not as fresh. I was definitely a little disappointed, but maybe it was a miss. Everything else, including the house seaweed soup and the fish head, was really good. -

Like all reviews: SOY SAUCE CRAB!!
If you dont like raw seafood or seafood in general might not be the place for you. They specialize in their crab dishes and there is a reason for that. Came with family and we ordered soy sauce crab (we were newbies and didn't order the korean ver but DEF will next time); two uni bowls, the seafood stew, the crab stew(small version) bulgolgi .. they were so awesome and threw in a potato pancake on the house. they also gave my nephews the dry seaweed which they LOVED! The side dishes were also all pretty good and generous! Everything was very delicious!
Service: Was pretty good; they were attentive and very nice. They knew it was our first time and we were unfamiliar with everything so they were pretty accommodating.
Ambiance: its a small mom and pop shop. Don't expect fancy anything really. It has a really home vibe and you can really enjoy a family meal here. Lots of families coming through as well.
Only reason why I docked off 1 star was the availability of their advertised items (which was one of the biggest reasons why we came). We wanted to get the crab and uni combo but was told that the uni for that size was unavailable. I feel that if you are unable to fulfill the advertised combos and prices then there should be a sign or some sort of verbiage when giving our the menus that certain items on the menu is unavailable rather then wait until we are ready to order to tell us. I feel they should have told us as an FYI when we sat down OR since they didn't have that uni size they should replace it with something similar of value or a different uni item without the shell.
Overall I still highly recommend this place bc its BOMB. I would def come here again. PARKING is valet only $2 or street parking. -

Crab house specializes in Korean Marinated Raw Crab.
I must say I was skeptical at first; however after watching a number of Korean dramas that featured the dish, I decided I needed to try it.
We were warmly greeted by a couple of aunties who put my reservations about the raw crustaceans to rest. We ordered the original crab, spicy crab, and the special whole large uni rice.
The meal began with a complimentary salmon head that was cooked in the MOST delicious sauce I've ever had... i mean seriously.. so good.
The large whole uni is most impressive. What a beautiful dish!
Then out comes the crabs... WOW. You put on a pair of plastic gloves and dive in. Soft, briny and sweet. I preferred the spicy version. Swimming in a red sauce that was not TOO spicy but just the right amount of KICK.
To top it off, the kitchen brought out super fresh Toro for dessert. To DIE for, so buttery soft and mild.
I returned a second time for the spicy crab stew and was not disappointed.
Everyone is super friendly - this is really a wonderful experience if you feel like venturing out of your comfort zone. -

I have been on a Korean raw crab binge and of all the places, and there are not many, in OC and Los Angeles this place is by far the best. Do not waste your time getting the American crabs go for the Korean crabs and pay a little bit more. Also definitely get the UNI if it's on there a special menu.
